This is set up through my math wikis and One Note Notebooks. If a student demonstrates prior knowledge on any specific Math topic, they are given an extension activity for that particular lesson. Students are given pre-assesments to each Math unit of study. Extension activities are also provided through Math clubs and in my daily lessons. For example a child may feel they need extra help on long division so they choose to go to that club for the week. Students are given the choice of which math club they feel they should join for the week. Math clubs are targeted lessons run by the 5th grade teachers. In addition to our daily in class math lessons, we also provide students with Math clubs. I work closely with my team members to provide the best possible opportunities to differentiate. I pull from a variety of sources including, but not limited to Nelson's Math, Mike Wymer, Investigations and web based sources. § 1681 - To Learn More, visit Title IX and Sexual Misconduct. For Math as well as all subjects, I plan based on the curriculum outcomes. Title IX states: "No person in the United States shall, on the basis of sex, be excluded from participation in, be denied the benefits of, or be subjected to discrimination under any education program or activity receiving Federal financial assistance." 20 U.S.C. Title IX of the Education Amendments of 1972 protects people from discrimination based on sex in education programs or activities which receive Federal financial assistance. For more information, visit The University of Memphis Equal Opportunity and Affirmative Action. The Office for Institutional Equity has been designated to handle inquiries regarding non-discrimination policies. The University of Memphis does not discriminate against students, employees, or applicants for admission or employment on the basis of race, color, religion, creed, national origin, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity/expression, disability, age, status as a protected veteran, genetic information, or any other legally protected class with respect to all employment, programs and activities sponsored by the University of Memphis.
